Job Role

The live-in supervisor for LRF accommodation is responsible for ensuring the safety, well-being and discipline of students within LRF accommodation, specific to their living property.

This role involves monitoring facilities, providing support and addressing any issues or emergencies that arise as well as following all safeguarding, health and safety and other applicable policies.

The role will mainly consist of being the duty of care for the students between 10pm and 8.30am.

Supervision will covered during the day with an alternative process and additional staff. Live-in staff will be required to ensure that students are following the evening and overnight rules and routines and safeguard the students during the night, attending to any emergency or unintended issues with the students in their property.

Student support

Building and maintaining positive relationships with students, addressing their needs, fostering a supportive community atmosphere whilst ensuring adherence to job descriptions and LRF policies.

Reporting processes will be a key aspect of this role.

Emergency Response/Safeguarding

Acting as first point of contact for emergencies overnight, providing basic first aid, providing immediate assistance and co-ordinating with appropriate personnel following all LRF policies.

Facility Oversight

Assisting with basic maintenance tasks, monitoring building management system and identify/reporting any maintenance issues.

Administrative Duties

Maintaining accurate records of incidents, fire alarm testing, maintenance requests and other relevant activities for accurate record-keeping.

Conflict Resolution

Addressing and managing any conflicts or issue that arise among students in a calm and professional manner, supporting the wider development of students and needs of the programme.

Policy Enforcement

Ensure compliance with LRF policies, including curfews and conduct standards and report any violations.

Health and Safety Compliance

Upholding Health and Safety standards, conduct Risk assessments and ensure all protocols/policies are followed.

Skills and Experience

Previous experience in a similar role, particularly within student accommodation or residential setting, is preferred but not essential.

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a strong emphasis on interpersonal skills.

Ability to work autonomously, make informed decisions and handle emergencies effectively.

Strong observational skills to identify and address potential safety or security issues.

Physical capability to conduct patrols and respond swiftly to emergencies.

Basic first aid training is desirable; however, training will be given.
