Nate Martin arrives at the Leicester Riders as a skilled and hard-working forward with a reputation for rebounding dominance and inside-out versatility.
The 6’8” American began his college career at Texas State University, where he played an important role in the program’s success, helping the Bobcats capture back-to-back Sun Belt regular season titles and reach the postseason twice.
Martin transferred to Marshall University for his senior season — and delivered a breakout year. He averaged a double-double with 10.8 points and 10.1 rebounds per game, recording 16 double-doubles across the campaign. His consistent impact earned him a place on the Sun Belt All-Tournament Team, establishing him as one of the league’s most reliable big men.
Martin carried that momentum into the 2024–25 season, continuing to refine his all-around game. He contributed 9.6 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per contest, while maintaining 53.4% shooting from the field and an impressive 39% from three-point range — a testament to his ability to stretch the floor as well as battle in the paint.
Known for his toughness on the glass, efficient scoring, and leadership qualities, Martin now takes the next step in his career with the Riders, bringing a combination of grit, versatility, and experience to the Leicester frontcourt.
