Prior to heading to Canada, Boardman-Raffet was a standout at Barking Abbey academy in the EABL. At Barking, Flynn was selected to be part of the prestigious 2021 Hoopsfix all-star classic, and represented the Barking team at the Euro League Adidas Next Generation Tournament.

This summer, Flynn represented the Great Britain U23 3×3 National team at the Nations League tournament, where he played alongside new Riders teammate Victor Ndoukou and was coached by Riders assistant & Loughborough Riders head coach Will Maynard.

Boardman-Raffet commented:

“I am beyond excited to officially join the Leicester Riders.”

“It has always been my dream to play professional basketball, and to start my career here in Leicester means the world to me. The journey to this point has required a great deal of hard work, dedication, and perseverance, which makes this opportunity even more meaningful. I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity and I can’t wait to start competing this upcoming season. Go Riders!”

Coach Rob Paternostro added:

“We’re very excited to welcome Flynn to our team. He’s a talented young British player coming off an impressive season in Canada.”

“Flynn is a physical guard with great size who can score the ball, create for others, and defend multiple positions. We are really looking  forward to working with him this season.”
