Leicester Riders are excited to announce the signing of American forward Denzel Mahoney ahead of the 2025–26 Super League Basketball season.
Mahoney joins the Riders following two successful seasons in the NBA G-League with the Austin Spurs, affiliate club of the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA. Mahoney suited up for the Charlotte Hornets in the 2021 NBA Summer League, before signing with Spurs for the 2021-22 G-League season.

Prior to playing with the Austin Spurs, Mahoney had a standout career at Creighton University competing in the Big East Conference. In his junior year with the Blue Jays, Mahoney was the recipient of the Big East sixth man of the year award, with impressive averages of 12 points and 3.2 rebounds per game of the bench. As a senior, Mahoney moved into a starting for the Blue Jays, helping Creighton reach the sweet sixteen of the NCAA March Madness Tournament with averages of 12.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per game, ranking 9th in total points and 4th in made threes across the Big East Conference.
Before transferring to Creighton, Mahoney played two seasons at Southeast Missouri State. In his final year with the Red Hawks, Mahoney put up an impressive 19.3 points per game whilst hitting from distance at a red hot 41% rate. He was named to the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) All first team, and All tournament team and ranked 2nd In the conference for total points and points per game.
