Leicester Riders Foundation Hosts Cubs for Inspiring Basketball Session

The Leicester Riders Foundation was delighted to welcome a group Leicestershire based Countesthorpe Cubs to the Mattioli Arena for an engaging and inspiring basketball experience.

The session introduced the Cubs to the fundamentals of basketball through a series of fun, interactive drills focused on shooting and dribbling. Led by members of the Riders team, the activities were designed to build confidence, coordination and teamwork while keeping everyone active and smiling throughout.

Beyond basketball skills, the evening placed a strong emphasis on personal development. The Cubs were given a special opportunity to hear from the Leicester Riders’ captain, who spoke openly about his own life experiences and journey in sport. His message focused on the importance of resilience, perseverance and believing in yourself, even when faced with challenges.

The talk sparked great conversations and left a lasting impression on the group, reinforcing the Foundation’s commitment to using sport as a tool to inspire positive values both on and off the court.

The Leicester Riders Foundation is proud to support young people in the community by creating opportunities that combine physical activity with meaningful life lessons, and we look forward to welcoming more groups to our facility in the future.
