Leicester Riders have released Duke Shelton and Mike Mitchell Jr following talks between the club and players.
The club has today extended its thanks to both players for their hard work and commitment during their time in Leicester.
Shelton, part of the Riders squad for the last two seasons, was in the SLB Playoff Final-winning side at the O2 in May. The club recognises his contribution and wishes him the very best in the next chapter of his career.
Shelton said: “I’d like to take the time to say thank you to the Leicester Riders, the fans and anyone who has ever supported me and the club.
“My time there was nothing less than great – and I even got my first Playoff win, which was just legendary!
“I’m wishing the Riders the best of luck and success. To anyone who has ever supported me, liked a photo, had a small conversation, or taken a photo after the game, I say many blessings to you all and thank you all from the bottom of my passionate heart.”
Riders have also thanked Mike Mitchell Jr for his effort and dedication since joining the Riders earlier this summer, again wishing him every success for the future.
Mitchell Jr said: “I enjoyed my time as a Rider, Leicester is a great place and I wish the club and the fans well for the rest of the season.”
Riders Head Coach Rob Paternostro said: “Our thanks go to Duke and Mike for their contribution to the club.
“We’re expecting new faces to join the squad ahead of Friday’s game, and we’ll provide further updates around the roster over the coming days.”
