Leicester Riders return to the Mattioli Arena on Friday night, looking to get back on track as they host the Caledonia Gladiators in Super League Basketball Championship action.
The Riders fell short in their last outing on the road against Cheshire Phoenix in the Super League Basketball Trophy opener, but now turn their attention to a crucial home fixture as they aim to reset, regroup and rediscover winning rhythm in front of the home Cavalry.
RaeQuan Battle and Donald Carey Jr Forming Leicester’s Offensive Engine
RaeQuan Battle enters the contest as a standout after being named Super League Basketball’s Molten Player of the Month. Battle has been electric through the opening stretch of the season, delivering big scoring nights against both Newcastle Eagles and Cheshire Phoenix, and continues to be Leicester’s most explosive offensive force.
Alongside him, Donald Carey Jr and Tomiwa Sulaiman have become key contributors at both ends, while Aaron Menzies provides interior presence that will be vital against a physical Caledonia lineup.

Former Rider Ethan Wright Returns to Leicester
The night also marks the return of a familiar face, with last season 6th Man and former Leicester Riders player Ethan Wright returning to Leicester for the first time since leaving the Riders in the summer. Wright has become a core piece for the Gladiators, offering perimeter shooting and defensive hustle. His return adds an extra spark to what is already shaping up to be a fiercely contested matchup.
Both sides will be hungry. Leicester searching for momentum. Caledonia looking to steal a big road win. The Riders will lean on high-tempo offence, defensive pressure, and the shot-making of Battle to set the tone early. The Gladiators counter with balanced scoring and the threat of Wright on the wing.
It has all the ingredients for a close, competitive night at the Mattioli Arena.
