Leicester Riders are delighted to announce that exciting British talent Grace Nzeakor will step up to the Super League Basketball (SLB) squad for the 2026/27 season.
A product of the Leicester Riders Basketball Academy, Nzeakor is coming off an impressive campaign in the Women’s Elite Academy Basketball League (WEABL), where she averaged a double-double of 18.6 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. Her standout performances earned her the Northern Conference Most Improved Player award.
Following her breakthrough season, Nzeakor received a call-up to the prestigious Hoopsfix All-Star Classic in London, where she was recognised among the best U19 players in the country.
Her impressive summer continued with an appearance at The One, a Jordan Brand event showcasing emerging basketball talent. Nzeakor progressed all the way to the European Final of the global competition.
Stepping into the professional women’s squad will not be an entirely new experience for Nzeakor. She made multiple appearances for the Riders’ first team last season, while also gaining valuable senior experience with Loughborough Riders in NBL Division One.
Speaking on her move to the first team, Nzeakor said:
“I am grateful for the opportunity to start my professional career at the club this year, most importantly with the Riders, who I have been with since I was 11 years old.
“I’m excited to be part of the team and to experience life as a professional athlete. It’s a dream come true.”

“We’re excited to have Grace step up and become a full-time member of our SLB squad this season.
“She’s shown great potential over the last 12 months and has worked incredibly hard to earn this opportunity. I’m looking forward to working with her, watching her develop throughout the season, and seeing the energy and competitiveness she brings to every practice.”
After progressing through the Riders’ academy pathway, Nzeakor now takes the next step in her development as she joins the SLB squad for the 2026/27 season.
