Nick Moodey Appointed Head Coach of Leicester Riders Women Ahead of 2025–26 Season

The Leicester Riders Women are pleased to confirm the appointment of Nick Moodey as Head Coach ahead of the upcoming 2025–26 Women’s Super League Basketball season.

Nick steps into the role after an impressive seven-year tenure with the Riders organisation, during which he has made significant contributions across both the professional and development pathways of the club.

Since 2019, Nick has served as Assistant Coach for the Leicester Riders Women, playing a key role in the team’s success, including winning the WBBL Trophy and WBBL Cup as part of the coaching staff.

Alongside his work with the professional team, he has also been pivotal in the club’s youth development, acting as Head of the Girls Academy at Charnwood College since 2022. Under his leadership, the Academy clinched the WEABL North Conference title in 2023–24, reinforcing the Riders’ reputation as a leader in player development.

Nick’s coaching career within the wider Loughborough basketball structure began in 2018, when he led the BUCS Women’s 3s for three seasons. Before taking up the role as Head Coach of the Loughborough Riders Women in NBL Division 1 for the second time in the 2024-25 season.

Speaking on his appointment, Nick said:

“I’m incredibly proud to be stepping into this role at such an exciting time for the Riders. This organisation has been a central part of my coaching journey, and I’m thrilled to lead the programme into its next chapter.”
