Leicester Riders have completed the signing of Canadian guard Ally Sentance ahead of the 2026/27 Super League Basketball season.
The Ontario native joins the Riders for her first season of professional basketball following a successful collegiate career in the United States.
Sentance recently graduated from NCAA Division II programme Southern Connecticut State University, having previously spent time at NCAA Division I level with Central Connecticut State University before transferring in 2024.
During her senior season at Southern Connecticut, the guard averaged 7.8 points and 3.1 rebounds per game, while shooting an impressive 41% from three-point range on more than four attempts per game.
Alongside her commitments with the Riders, Sentance will continue her studies at Loughborough University through the club’s partnership with the university. She will also represent the University BUCS side during the 2026/27 season.
Speaking after signing her first professional contract, Sentance said:
“I am super excited to be a part of the Riders organisation and have this amazing opportunity.
“I’m ready to learn from a great group of girls and staff who will challenge me and help me grow and adapt to the winning culture of this organisation. I can’t wait to get started!”
Head Coach Nick Moodey is pleased to welcome Sentance to Leicester and believes she will fit naturally into the Riders’ style of play.
“We’re really happy to have Ally with us. She’s had a really good college career, most recently at Southern Connecticut, and comes in with experience of playing at a high level and being part of a successful team.
“She’s competitive, plays with good energy and can impact the game in a number of ways. She’s got a good feel for the game and I think she’ll fit really well with how we want to play.
“I’m looking forward to working with her and seeing what she can bring to the team.”
Sentance now joins the Riders as preparations continue for the 2026/27 Super League Basketball season.
