Leicester Riders Sign American Forward Xavier Bledson

Leicester Riders are pleased to announce the signing of American forward Xavier Bledson for the remainder of the Super League Basketball season.

The 6’6” forward arrives in Leicester following a strong campaign across Europe. Bledson most notably competed with BK Iskra Svit in the Slovakian Extraliga, where he established himself as one of the league’s most productive perimeter players. Across the season, he averaged 17.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game while shooting an impressive 45.1% from three-point range and 86.5% from the free-throw line, highlighting his efficiency and scoring versatility.

Prior to joining the Riders, Bledson most recently competed for Maccabi Ma’ale Adumim in the Israeli National League, continuing to build valuable professional experience while showcasing his ability to impact games on both ends of the floor with his size, athleticism, and versatility.

Bledson enjoyed a successful collegiate career at Indiana State University, where he developed into a reliable two-way forward known for his energy, shooting ability, and decision-making. During the 2023–24 season, he was named Missouri Valley Conference Sixth Man of the Year after playing a key role off the bench for the Sycamores. Appearing in 39 games during his senior campaign, Bledson consistently contributed across multiple statistical categories, demonstrating the all-around skillset that has translated into his professional career.

The club is currently working closely with the league to finalise Bledson’s licence approval ahead of him making his debut for the Riders.
