Leicester Riders’ Katie Januszewska has been named to the Women’s Super League Basketball British Team of the Year!
The GB international, who received her first call up to the national team this season, was the Riders’ season leading scorer on the season. She averaged 13.7 points and 4.2 rebounds on the year- her best season in her young professional career.
She achieved her season-high of 27 points twice during the league season, going off for 27 and 8 against Durham Palatinates near the end of the year. Januszewska had 11 double digit scoring performances during her Championship campaign.

Januszewska said: “I’m grateful to receive the recognition of being named to this team. Being a part of the Riders team this season has been really enjoyable!”
“A massive thank you goes to my teammates and coaches who have all supported me throughout this season and helped me to improve.”
Ben Stanley added: “KJ has been fantastic for us all season on and off the court. We had high expectations for her this year even before her role increased, and she’s attacked every opportunity and thoroughly deserves every accolade.
“For me personally seeing her development this year, being able to watch her apply everything she works on in practice in games no matter the competition, has been a real highlight.”
