The Leicester Riders, one of Britain’s most successful professional basketball clubs, are looking for a dynamic and driven Sales Executive to join our Commercial team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the fast-paced world of elite sport, helping us grow our commercial partnerships and deliver outstanding value to our sponsors.
Location: Leicester, covering Leicestershire
Contract: Full-time (40 hours per week) | 3-month probation period
Salary: Dependent on experience
Holiday: 20 days plus bank holidays

About the Role
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will play a key role in driving revenue growth through sponsorship, partnerships, and sales initiatives. This is a hands-on, results-focused role for someone who thrives on building relationships, creating compelling proposals, and closing deals.
Your focus will be on securing new business, maintaining excellent relationships with existing sponsors, and ensuring all partnership agreements deliver real return on investment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospecting & Lead Generation – Research, identify, and engage with potential sponsors that align with the Riders’ brand and audience.
- Sales & Negotiation – Create tailored sponsorship proposals, deliver persuasive pitches, and secure agreements that meet revenue targets.
- Relationship Management – Build strong, long-term partnerships with sponsors, encouraging renewals and upselling opportunities.
- Collaboration & Strategy – Work closely with internal teams to ensure sponsorship deliverables are exceeded and partners receive first-class service.
- Reporting & Administration – Maintain accurate sales records, contracts, and progress reports.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Proven track record in B2B sales, ideally in sponsorship or sporting events.
- Confident communicator with strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Experience creating compelling, ROI-focused proposals.
- Ability to work to revenue targets under pressure.
Desirable:
- Experience in sports, entertainment, or non-profit sectors.
- Existing network of corporate contacts.
- Knowledge of sponsorship valuation and ROI measurement.
