Community Camps
Community Camps
During half terms and some weekends, the Foundation will host Community Camps for those between the ages of 8 and 16. Attendees will arrive at 10am, then leave at 4pm.
Camp tickets are available for £20 a day, though there may be a discounted a rate if you attend all days.
On community camps, attendees will be split into groups based on ages and abilities, making sure those who may be new to basketball are working together. These groups will often be aligned to the weekly development sessions that take place at the arena.
The camps, as with all events held by the Foundation, are open to those with any level of ability or basketball experience.
Players will work on different skills throughout the camp. In the morning, they will focus on one of the key skills- dribbling, passing, defence and shooting, and then they will look to take those skills into gameplay in the afternoon.
The sessions are aimed to be a mix of fun and learning, with a competitive edge carrying on throughout the week. There is an aim that teams will stay similar throughout the week, hoping to create a week-long tournament feel, that will help to track the progress of players throughout the week.
At the end of the week, coaches will give out awards, based on performance and attitude of those in attendance.
All attendees are asked to bring a packed lunch and plenty of water.
