Home Education

Led by our experienced community coaches, these sessions focus on developing key basketball skills in a safe, fun, and engaging environment. Whether your child is brand new to the sport or already has some experience, our sessions provide a supportive space to get active, learn, and make new friends.

Mini Ballers (4-6)

These sessions are designed for children aged 4-6 years old, learning the fundamentals of basketball while having a great time on court. With the support of our friendly community coaches, players will build confidence, develop key skills, and enjoy the game in a safe, positive environment.

Rising Ballers (7-9)

These sessions are designed for children aged 7-9 years old, focusing on building core skills, teamwork, and game understanding while keeping the fun at the heart of everything we do. With guidance from our experienced community coaches, players will grow in confidence, sharpen their abilities, and take the next step on their basketball journey in a safe and supportive environment.

Fundamental Hoops (9-13)

Fundamental Hoops is designed for players aged 9-13 who want to develop their basketball ability in a fun, structured, and supportive environment. Delivered by experienced Leicester Riders Foundation coaches, each session focuses on the core skills that form the building blocks of the game, from ball handling and shooting technique to movement, teamwork, and game understanding. With sessions available at multiple venues around the county, including Mattioli Arena, there’s a convenient option for players wherever they’re based.

NextGen Hoops (13-17)

NextGen Hoops is our pathway session for players aged 13-17 looking to sharpen their skills and take their basketball to a higher level. Held exclusively at Mattioli Arena, home of Leicester Riders, sessions combine advanced technical coaching with competitive gameplay, helping players refine their fundamentals while developing a deeper tactical understanding of the game.

Beyond The Bounce

This fully funded session offers young people aged 12-17 a safe, welcoming space to play basketball, build friendships, and stay active. Delivered by Leicester Riders Foundation coaches, the session is free to attend and open to all, with a particular focus on providing a positive, supervised environment for young people in the local community. The session is funded by Leicester Community Safety Partnership.

Walking Basketball

Perfect for beginners, those returning to the sport, or anyone recovering from injury, these sessions are open to participants aged 18+. With guidance from our community coaches, you’ll develop your skills, stay active, and enjoy the social side of basketball in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Women’s Open Court

Whether you’re picking up a basketball for the first time, getting back into the sport, or looking for a fun way to stay active, these sessions are perfect for beginner to intermediate players. Come along, build confidence, and play the game you love.

Late Night Hoops

Perfect for beginner to intermediate players, these sessions are all about getting on court, running the game, and finishing your day the best way possible, under the lights at the Mattioli Arena.
