Established in 2014 as a charitable trust, the Leicester Riders Foundation is dedicated to growing the game of basketball and making a lasting impact in the community. Each year, we provide over 20,000 participants with opportunities to engage in the sport, from grassroots programs to elite development pathways.

As part of our commitment to Leicester and Leicestershire, we helped establish the Mattioli Arena in January 2016—a state-of-the-art facility that serves as the home of the Leicester Riders’ professional men’s, women’s, and junior teams, as well as a hub for community engagement.

Our mission is to make basketball accessible to all. Through our network of Satellite Clubs and Project Hub-funded sessions, we deliver high-quality coaching and structured development pathways for players of all ages and abilities. Whether you’re just starting out or aiming to represent the Leicester Riders at regional and national levels, our programs provide the support needed to reach your potential.

Beyond player development, the Foundation is committed to nurturing the next generation of coaches, officials, and volunteers. We offer accredited courses and hands-on experience to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge to contribute to the sport both on and off the court.
