Johnson, who also has British heritage, is currently competing in his first professional season with the Montreal Alliance in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). At the time of writing, he is averaging 5.2 points and 2.5 rebounds per game and recently produced his best performance of the season, recording 22 points and 7 rebounds against the Winnipeg Sea Bears.
A graduate of Houston Christian University in NCAA Division I, Johnson began his collegiate career at Midland College before spending time at Idaho State and eventually finishing his final two years of eligibility with the Huskies. During his senior season at Houston Christian, he averaged 8.2 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game, while shooting an impressive 40.3% from three-point range on four attempts per game.
Standing at 6’6”, Johnson adds length, athleticism and versatility to the Riders’ frontcourt. His combination of size, mobility and perimeter shooting makes him an ideal fit for Coach Rob Paternostro’s system, with the ability to impact the game at multiple positions on both ends of the floor.
