Leicester Riders are delighted to announce the signing of American forward Bernard Pelote ahead of the 2026/27 Super League Basketball season.
Pelote joins the Riders following an impressive rookie campaign in Germany with the Tübingen Tigers, where he competed in the ProA during the 2025/26 season.
The versatile 6’8″ forward made an immediate impact in his first professional season, averaging 14.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game against strong opposition.
Pelote also showcased his ability to perform on the biggest stage in the German Cup, where Tübingen faced top-flight BBL opposition in the Trier Gladiators. Pelote was among the Tigers’ standout performers, finishing with 16 points and six rebounds while shooting 3-of-8 from three-point range.
Prior to beginning his professional career, Pelote spent three seasons with Western Carolina University. During his senior campaign, he averaged 14.2 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.
His collegiate career also saw him earn SAC All-Conference Third Team honours in 2022, while he was named to the SAC All-Freshman Team in 2021.
Speaking following the completion of his move to Leicester, Pelote said:

Pelote becomes the eighth confirmed player on Head Coach Rob Paternostro’s 2026/27 roster, and the seventh new addition ahead of the upcoming campaign.
