Leicester Riders begin their busy Christmas fixture run as they return to the court this Sunday, as they head to Ellesmere Port to face Cheshire Phoenix in the Super League Basketball Championship. Coach Rob will be looking to restart their campaign with a big win on the road after the international break.
Sulaiman Returns to the Spotlight
One of the biggest talking points heading into the game is Tomiwa Sulaiman, who recently claimed the Riders Minerva Play of the Month for his explosive dunk the last time the Riders visited Cheshire.
But beyond the highlight reel, Sulaiman is becoming an unsung hero in Head Coach Rob Paternostro’s rotation. His work rate, defensive discipline, rebounding presence and high on-court IQ have provided Riders with crucial protection and stability in key moments this season. Expect him to play another important role in a tough road environment.

Riders Aiming to Regain Momentum
Leicester will look to pick up where they left off, with RaeQuan Battle, Donald Carey Jr, and the returning Marc Loving leading the charge. Extra time to prepare over the break has allowed Coach Rob’s side to sharpen rotations and reset physically as they aim to control tempo and limit Phoenix’s transition threat.
Tough Test on the Road
Cheshire remain one of the league’s strongest home teams, playing fast and aggressively. The Riders will need composure, rebounding, and balanced scoring to come away with the result in what is always a competitive matchup.
