Leicester Riders are excited to announce the return of fan favourite Marc Loving for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.
Loving will be a familiar face to many Riders fans having spent two seasons with the club between 2021-2023 helping win the domestic treble in the 2021-22 season. During his first stint in Leicester, Loving posted impressive averages of 15 points and 6.9 rebounds per game and was named December player of the month in the 2021-22 season. After winning the Playoffs, Cup and Championship titles with the Riders, Loving returned for a second season as the club entered the Basketball Champions League for the second time. Loving was standout player for coach Paternostro’s side as the Riders secured a 2nd place finish in the championship alongside another playoff final appearance at the o2 arena.
Since leaving Leicester, the 6’8 forward spent time in Argentina, Romania and Isreal, playing last season in Slovakia under Coach Gareth Murray with Prievidza. During his time in Slovakia, loving recorded 17.2 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, shooting a red hot 43% from distance and being named to the SBL All-star game.

Upon his return to Leicester, Loving commented:
“What’s up Riders family! I’m very excited to be back in Leicester & win some games.
I’m looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and putting on a show for some amazing
fans. Let’s go!”
Head Coach Rob Paternostro added:
“We’re thrilled to have Marc Loving back.
He was a high-IQ, versatile, and highly successful player for us before, and we know his skill and impact on both ends will be a valuable boost to our club.”
Club officials have been working behind the scenes to allow for Loving to make his season debut tomorrow night (Friday 21st November) against the Caledonia Gladiators. Final tickets are still available here.
