Leicester Riders are excited to announce the signing of 6’5 Nigerian centre Mercy Ademusayo for the 2025-26 season.
Ademusayo joins the Riders following four years at NCAA Division 1 school Northwestern University. In her best outing of the Wildcats, Ademusayo put up 8 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks against powerhouse Notre Dame.
Upon signing her first pro contract with the Riders, Ademusayo commented:
“I’m really excited to be joining the Riders this season!”
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to compete at the next level and eager to make the most of this season. I’m Looking forward to contributing to the team’s success. Let’s go Riders!”
At 6’5, Ademusayo adds a commanding presence to the Riders lineup on both ends of the floor, with her incredible shot blocking ability being a key standout from her time at Northwestern.

Ademusayo becomes coach Moodey’s 11th and final signing of the summer, completing what looks to be an exciting roster for the coming the season. He added:
“We’re really excited to welcome to Mercy to our club.”
“Her height and physicality are rare to come by in this league, and we feel she can make a real difference to our side on both ends of the floor. Her character and attitude will make her a great fit with our group, and we’re ready to see her compete.”
