Riders recruit McAlear-Fanus

Leicester Riders have began preparations for the 2021/22 WBBL season with the signing of Canadian point guard Brooklynn McAlear-Fanus.

Playmaker McAlear-Fanus arrives at the Riders after a 5 year career at the University of Ottawa where she was twice an OUA First Team All Star.

In her final year with the ‘Gee-Gees’ she averaged 15.8 PPG, 6.8 RPG & 6.8 APG.

“I’m extremely excited to start my professional career with the Leicester Riders. They have a great group of players and coaches and I can’t wait to grow with the program.”

“I hope to bring a fast pace style to the point guard spot and put my teammates in the best position possible for success.”

Riders Head Coach Derrick Washington is looking forward to welcoming her to the Riders.

“I’m excited to bring Brooklynn on board here at the Riders. I believe she has the potential to be a great young talent in this League”

“Brooklynn is an all round player that any coach would want on their team. Her two-way impact on the floor will be a key component to our success in the WBBL this season”.

Riders will be announcing further signings in the coming days.
